"Halloween... What should my family do?"

Hello Friends Happy Fall!

Today a lot of our culture will celebrate Halloween tonight.

You might have had some thoughts on the subject like,

"Is this ok? I'm not sure what Halloween is all about? What should my family do about it?"

Here is a short back history taken from Focus on the Family:

Throughout centuries, Samhain continued in mutated forms until around 609 A.D. when Pope Boniface IV declared a new celebration.

Initially, Pope Boniface IV created All Saints’ Day or All-Hallows Day to be celebrated before summer. All Saints’ Day focuses on celebrating martyrs and saints who sacrificed their lives for the Christian faith. Later, Pope Gregory III moved the celebration to the fall season to coincide with Samhain.

Over the years, All Saints’ Day or All-Hallows Day continued its evolution into the modern celebration of Halloween. Samhain’s sacrifices evolved into Halloween’s handing out a different kind of offering: candy. Nevertheless, Halloween still contains its roots in a pagan celebration of death and rebirth....

So what should we do Friends?

I encourage you to ask God what He wants us you to do & do it! His voice & what He tells us to do may look different for each family and that's ok! We are all part of His body & all have different gifts & purposes! We all look different, but all are beautifully knit together to love & serve Him!

No matter what you do today, Let your light shine for Jesus for all men to see! Matthew 5:14-16. This is God's heart for all families, any day of the week!
