Behind the Cabin Door October 2024: "All creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and with us sing, "Alleluia! Alleluia!.."

My husband surprised me on a recent camping trip to the mountains! There we were just the two of us ready to rest, connect, and simply relax! We enjoyed every moment we had together and it was such a refreshing time to do absolutely nothing and enjoy the beautiful weather!

It was Sunday morning, I sat alone while my husband made our morning coffee. Just gazing into the trees watching all the shades of orange, yellow, pink, and red leaves softly swaying back and forth as the sun was starting to shine through, a song came into my heart. I wasn't too sure of all the words at that moment but this is what I sang...

"All creatures of our God and King, lift up your voice and with us sing, Alleluia! Alleluia!"

It wasn't hard for me to add more words to the tune and it wasn't hard just to sit in that atmosphere just thinking about how beautiful, great, and loving God is! Yes, even at the end of October where things and atmospheres may not look as bright and cheerful, remember that God is still good! He still deserves our praise! He desires to give peace to your spirit, soul, and body any day of the week! Those days when life is hard, praise Him anyway! Look a little higher than that moment in time where life hurts and allow Him to show you all the sweet blessings of joy He has given you that is honestly surrounding you every day! Praise God and watch your life begin to shine like His!

I encourage you to read Colossians 3:1-17 as it gives guidance and encouragement about who we are in Christ!

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanksto God the Father through him." (Verses 15-17)
