Behind the Cabin Door June 2023: “There was nothing fancy about this church just simply Jesus! He confirmed again that this would be the type of setting, old 1700’s and simply Jesus, He wanted for Young Circuit Riders!”
A STORY FROM THE PAST! WE MUST REMEMBER AND PRAISE GOD FOR HIS ONGOING GOODNESS!
My family and I decided to visited a church one Sunday morning. When I walked into this small church I felt as if I stepped back into time, just as if I was walking into a scene where John Wesley would have been! I was standing in a room of Spiritual Fathers and Spiritual Mothers. I think my husband and I were the youngest couple there that day, but I felt right at home!
The service started and got better and better as old, beautiful, inspiring hymns were sung. This worship was nothing fancy but was just simply Jesus! I felt Jesus kiss me that day as He confirmed again that this would be the type of setting, old 1700’s and simply Jesus, He wanted for Young Circuit Riders! The older coming to teach and pour into the younger! I guess the pastors saw this sweet encounter I was having with Jesus because they asked if I would share what God was showing me. As I stood in the front and began to share my heart, love, and gratitude for Jesus, through my tears, in the very back of the church, I noticed tall windows floor to ceiling. Through the windows were nothing but tall trees! It was as if I was back in the special meeting place in the deep woods of Georgia where God spoke to me the first time.
As I kept talking I kept thinking to myself how much I would love it if these “John Wesleys” would pray for me. I was just ending a time of prayer and fasting and would begin writing Young Circuit Riders that very next week. Well, of course God knew again what I needed! The deacon stepped up and said he felt he needed to pray over my husband and I and as he did this precious older women wrapped her arms around me and prayed a sweet prayer over me.
You think this would be the end of the story but it gets even better! During the closing prayer I sat there thanking God for this special visit and this beautiful 1700s’s scene I felt like I was in. I thought to myself, “I feel like a women is going to bring me jelly, maybe blackberries! This would complete my day!” We were almost to the door and yes, I am not joking, A sweet women came up to me and said, “Thank you for visiting out church today. We always like to give a gift to our guests.” Then she handed me a small jar of fruit preserves! It was not blackberries but was still a small taste of the fruit that was about to begin for Young Circuit Riders!
“God is always waiting to bless His people! Just say yes, obey, and watch what happens!”
