Behind the Cabin Door December 2025: "Cindy Lou Who, goes out of her way for the Grinch trying her best to make him feel good..."

Most of us, if not all, have heard the story of The Grinch. There are many versions of this classic story but this year I must share Illumination's version of The Grinch, 2018.

The Grinch hates Christmas but not because someone made fun of his looks but because He is an orphan & has no family. He lives up in the mountain with his dog Max but still lacks true companionship. As you know, he later meets the sweet Cindy Lou Who who is so excited about everything Christmas!  Deep inside her little heart she goes out of her way for the Grinch trying her best to make him feel good. Here are the exact words from the Grinch as he joins in for their Christmas dinner,

"I've spent my entire life hating Christmas & everything about it. But now I see it wasn't Christmas I hated it was being alone. But, I'm not alone anymore thanks to all of you but especially this little girl (Cindy Lou Who). Mam, your daughter's kindness changed my life."

My heart was filled with joy the first time I heard those words from this Grinch who was 53 years old in the movie. His entire life was changed by a little girl showing kindness & love to him! That is the heart of God! This is what LIVING OUT Jesus looks like! This story is fiction but God HAS & still uses kids, adults, & anyone who desires to share His love!

I encourage you to say yes to Him today as He highlights a friend or maybe a stranger to you & I encourage you to show kindness & God's love!
