Behind the Cabin Door 2021: 2 “I practice God’s Word in my life! The choices I make come from God’s Word that does not return void. I am a wise man/ woman of God. I am planted firm on God’s Word and I am not easily shaken!”
Recently, I heard heartbreaking news of godly leaders with large ministries who was found living in sin. Leaders who displayed themselves and their ministries as living a faithful life devoted to God. It has been very difficult hearing details of their secret life exposed….
God, right on time as He always is, was so sweet to bring comfort to my heart through one of my kids Bible lessons!
Matthew 7:24-27
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
A murder, a thief, or a man or woman of God does not wake up one day and say to themselves, “ I'm going to FALL INTO SIN today, kill, steal, cheat on my spouse…” Sin starts as a choice. The small simply choices of life, what you choose to do and what you choose not to do. The wise man who stood the storms of life built his life on the rock or the Word of God. He chose the best choice and spent time building his house on the truth that conquers every lie the enemy throws at us.
Since these recent events, I have and daily am checking my heart for any sin. Anything that could separate me from Gods heart. If there is something I am doing or want to do that does not keep me close to His heart it’s His and I give it up.
I also feel a strong desire and urgency to read my Bible! I am hungry to know the truth more, and live out the truth more too! To live the way the Bible shows me how!
I pray you feel God on what I have written and desire to put yourself into action with His Word. God is so good to walk through every life’s choice with us. In fact, He tells us He is behind us telling us which way we should go, Isaiah 30:21. You are never alone if Jesus is living inside of you!
I encourage you to get some blocks, sticks, or logs and build a house on a solid rock with your kids! Build even if you have no kids! Remember the truth from Matthew 7:24-27, then declare the truth over your life, children, and family...
