Most of us, if not all, have heard the story of The Grinch. There are many versions of this classic story but this year I must share Illumination's version of The Grinch, 2018.
The Grinch hates Christmas but not because someone made fun of his looks but because He is an orphan and has no family. He lives up in the mountain with his dog Max but still lacks true companionship. As you know, He later meets the sweet Cindy Lou Who who is so excited about everything Christmas! Deep inside her little heart she goes out of her way for the Grinch trying her best to make him feel good. Here are the exact words from the Grinch as he joins in for their Christmas dinner.

My heart was filled with joy the first time I heard those words from this Grinch who was was 53 years old in the movie. His entire life was changed by a little girl showing kindness and love to him!!! That is the heart of God!!! This story is fiction but God HAS and still uses kids, adults, and anyone who desires to share His love! I encourage you to say yes to Him today as He highlights a friend or maybe a stranger to you. I encourage you also to show kindness and love!

MESSAGE: Read together, Matthew 18:3-4 "And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Encourage each other, as a mission, to show kindness and love this week. Write a couple of things you could do as a family to share His love!

PRAY AND DECLARE: Pray and declare together, "As a family, we declare we will follow God's leading today and in the new year! We will speak to people when He highlights people to us. We will pray for people when He tells us to. We will share the Good News of what God did for us! We will share Jesus! Amen!"
